- Review of Borrow A Boat: - I've booked with Borrow A Boat before, and the service was previously excellent - Clearly, they are struggling with responding to customers during the pandemic crisis. - I have many unreturned calls, unreturned emails, partial or missing information, lack of response. The process was very chaotic, not the service I am used to from Borrow A Boat. - Also, the pictures of the boat's amenities in the advertisement were not what we found on board. Review of the Charter Company: - When I arrived in Sardinia, the first time I called the Charter Company to try to find the boat, they told me I was on the wrong island (I wasn't) - The second time I called the next person I was forwarded on to at the Charter Company told me my reservation was cancelled (it wasn't) - The first night we were on the boat, the water maker failed due to a broken pipe. The cleaners had left bags of garbage on board in the compartments. We found dirty spoons under a table. The refrigerator never really worked. - The best thing about the Charter Company is that the local service rep at the marina did everything he could to make it right. He comped me the dinghy and bent over backwards to get the pipe fixed. - But it was overall a stressful way to start the vacation Review of the Crew: - The crew was the most delightful part of the trip (from Captains n Crew) - Our Skipper was very knowledgeable, experienced, he did great - Our Hostess was fantastic. She was incredibly hard-working, did far more than we expected. She was a true gem.

Security deposit
A refundable €4,000 security deposit will have to be paid at check-in. Like car rentals, boat charters require a refundable security deposit to cover accidental damage. The amount varies by boat model and is returned after inspection if no damage is found.
Insurance
This boat is managed by a professional charter company with comprehensive insurance. Your liability for damages is limited to the security deposit. For added peace of mind, you can protect your deposit by purchasing deposit insurance.

When can I get in touch with the captain/skipper?
The timing depends on your charter type. For crewed charters, we can provide the captain's contact details upon request. For bareboat charters with a hired skipper, you can request the contact information 1-3 weeks before departure.
What is the Charter Fee?
The Charter Fee is an additional, obligatory cost, which typically includes the end cleaning of the boat, home port fees, and linen & towels. The details of the charter fee differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner.
Are there any other costs I should be aware of?
There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your sailing holiday. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight - the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re sailing a motorboat or a sailboat. You can estimate fuel costs by double-checking your chosen boat’s engine, and the expected distance you aim to sail.
